About
Welcome to Sabrosada, a hidden gem nestled at 17225 Brookhurst St in Fountain Valley, CA. This charming eatery has managed to capture the hearts (and appetites) of many, becoming a cherished spot for authentic Mexican cuisine. As a food reviewer for Foodjoyy, I had the pleasure of diving deep into what Sabrosada has to offer, and let me tell you, it's a culinary journey worth experiencing.
The first thing that stands out at Sabrosada is its dedication to authenticity. Each dish bursts with rich flavors that transport you straight to the heart of Mexico. Customers rave about the carne asada fries, a staple at this restaurant that has stood the test of time. Kiana Berkman, a loyal patron for over a decade, emphasizes how the quality remains consistently high, proving that nostalgia and taste can indeed coexist.
Diversifying the menu alongside traditional favorites, Sabrosada offers a plethora of options from tacos and enchiladas to delicious burritos. Reviewer DK G notes the versatility, highlighting the ability to customize your order with a choice of protein and various preparations that meet all cravings. It's this adaptability that makes Sabrosada a delightful destination for food enthusiasts of all kinds.
One of the most talked-about elements is the mini salsa bar, stocked with vibrant salsas, chiles, and tangy encurtido. Hugo Castillo praised this feature, noting it adds a personal touch to each meal. You can easily find the perfect accompaniment for your dish, ensuring every bite is an explosion of flavor.
As I explored the menu, I couldn’t help but notice the portion sizes. Sharon Dymmel’s review echoed my sentiments: the generous servings at Sabrosada provide excellent value without sacrificing taste. The chorizo burrito, praised for its simplicity yet profound flavor, left a lasting impression. No fillers, just pure, hearty goodness! For hearty eaters, Hugo also recommends the machaca plate, which promises to be both satisfying and plentiful.
In my experience, Sabrosada is not just a restaurant; it's a community hub where flavors bring people together. It's a place where families create memories over plates of exquisite food. The atmosphere is relaxed yet vibrant, making it an ideal setting whether you're driving through on a busy day or enjoying a leisurely meal with loved ones.
Overall, Sabrosada commands respect in the bustling Fountain Valley food scene. With its commitment to authentic, flavorful dishes and a welcoming environment, it's easy to see why so many return time and again. Whether you're an old friend of the restaurant or a first-time visitor, you are sure to leave with both a full stomach and a happy heart.

“ I used to come to this place long ago when I was in school. It was nice to be able to stop by there on a whim today and find that it's still survived after all these years. I ordered a carne asada fries and it was just as good today as it was all those years ago ”
“ Not sure what this was before it was taken over but looks can be deceiving. A nice drive thru or dine in (small) Mexican burrito joint with a lot more than burritos. Take a protein and they'll pretty much make it however you want it, Tacos, enchiladas, tortas and more. Had Carnitas, was moist and full of flavor. Nice touch with the mini salsa bar. The chips and guac was not impressive. Overall I would come back to try something else. ”
“ I can believe this place, never seen it before a gem in hiding. Amazing flavors , well stocked salsa bar with Chiles, sauces, radishes and encurtido. Lowes prices I've seen for the amount of food you get, my chorizo burrito loaded no FILERS!! (potatoes, fries, rice etc), just chorizo and egg I added jalapenos, cilantro and onions. coming back for the machaca plate , warning I've seen it enough for 2. ”
“ I've been enjoying Sabrosada's food for over 10 years now. It's always delicious and portions are generous. Highly recommend! ”
“ This is really authentic Mexican food. It's delicious and the prices are perfect. And their chips are to die for! ”
“ I ordered the carne asada super nachos. It was delicious and was probably enough for two people. Prices are good for the amount of food. Delicious all around. I will definitely be coming back. ”
“ Every time I come home to Orange County, my late-night go-to spot is Sabrosada. The #20 with four chicken flautas and a half order of the carne asada fries (sub with skinny fries if they have them) are a MUST. The only thing I wish they have more of is the sour cream on top, it’s been a bit less lately but overall still great! The wait can be long sometimes when ordering drive-thru since they get busy and the food takes a bit to make. Everyone’s pretty patient and nice though, so practice patience too if you get hangry easily! ”
“ Best filling comfort food! Very authentic and HUGE portions. Great variety of menu. Service is always giving with a smile. Never got an order wrong. They are not chintzy on sauces. An anytime go to and a definitely must go to ”
